What Amplitude does

Amplitude bundles product analytics, journeys, experimentation and session replay, with AI agents and an MCP server on every plan. Since July 2026 it prices by events rather than monthly tracked users: the free plan covers up to 2 million events a month and the Plus plan starts at zero with the same 2 million included, according to the prices Amplitude published in October 2026. Check its website before deciding.

Watch out for. Amplitude is broad and rewards rigor. Part of the modules needs configuration and someone dedicated to building and reading the analyses. Prioritizing by business goals still falls to the team.

What Holdy does

Holdy reads your product's events, composes them into behaviors with your business rules and watches the state of each behavior per account. When something changes it opens the opportunity on its own, with the evidence, the affected accounts and a written action plan. The change reaches the product as an in-product message to the right users or as a draft pull request on GitHub, and Holdy reads the metric again afterwards to show whether it worked. A person still decides: nothing ships without approval.

When to pick Amplitude

  • A consumer product with millions of users and a data team to run the platform.
  • You need experimentation and journey analysis in the same place.
  • You already have an analyst who lives inside the reports.

When to pick Holdy

  • B2B SaaS where the unit is the account, not the user, and the product team is small.
  • You want the finding delivered, prioritized by business goals and with the affected accounts.
  • You want the change delivered in the product and the result measured against a holdout group, in behavior and in MRR.

Can I use Holdy together with Amplitude?

Today Holdy has connectors for PostHog and Mixpanel. Amplitude users start with Holdy's SDK or the REST API, and Holdy watches from the events that arrive.

How Holdy charges

The unit is the active account: each of your customers, company or workspace, with at least one event in the last 30 days counts once, no matter how many people it has. Your team's seats, events and integrations are never charged. Launch is US$29 (BRL 149) a month up to 100 active accounts and Growth is US$99 (BRL 490) a month up to 1,000 active accounts; beyond that, Corporate on request. Free is free, with 5 questions and 3 AI-generated improvements a month. Entry is the Free plan, no card. Plans are at /pricing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to replace Amplitude with Holdy?

No. Amplitude can keep the team's analyses. Holdy does not have an Amplitude connector today, so events come in through Holdy's SDK or the REST API, alongside what you already collect. Holdy covers what Amplitude does not: it opens the opportunity on its own, carries the change into the product and reads the result.

What is the main difference between Holdy and Amplitude?

Amplitude is an analytics platform the team operates. Holdy is an agent that watches behavior per account, opens the opportunity on its own, writes the plan, carries the change into the product and reads the result.

Does Holdy charge per event like Amplitude?

No. Holdy charges per active account per month, each of your customers with at least one event in the last 30 days, no matter how many people or events it has. Your team's seats, events and integrations are never charged.

How does Holdy measure whether the change worked?

Every action leaves part of the accounts out, at random. Holdy compares both groups on the behavior the action targets and, when you send plan, MRR and status per account, on who converted and who churned. A money figure only shows up once the difference holds; before that it shows how many accounts converted in each group and says it can't tell yet.

What if my customer base is small?

The comparison needs a sample. With a few dozen accounts, many readings end in "can't tell yet", and Holdy says so instead of inventing a number. The finding, the opportunity and the plan work from day one; the proof of the result gets stronger as the base grows.
