What Pendo does
Pendo is a product experience platform. According to its pricing page, consulted in October 2026, the modules are product analytics, in-product guides, session replay, NPS surveys, roadmaps and journey orchestration. There is a free plan for up to 500 monthly active users, and the paid plans (Base, Core and Ultimate) are priced on request by active-user volume.
Watch out for. The price grows with the user base, part of the modules tends to go unused, and building guides and reports needs someone dedicated to it. Pendo shows usage; deciding what to change in the product stays with the team.
What Holdy does
Holdy reads your product's events, composes them into behaviors with your business rules and watches the state of each behavior per account. When something changes it opens the opportunity on its own, with the evidence, the affected accounts and a written action plan. The change reaches the product as an in-product message to the right users or as a draft pull request on GitHub, and Holdy reads the metric again afterwards to show whether it worked. A person still decides: nothing ships without approval.
When to pick Pendo
- What you use most are guides, tours and checklists inside the product.
- You want NPS, roadmap and usage analytics in one platform.
- Someone is dedicated to building guides and reading reports.
When to pick Holdy
- What's missing is knowing which accounts need attention and what to change in the product.
- You want the opportunity to arrive open, with evidence, affected accounts and a plan.
- You want the change in the product as a hint, question or checklist through the SDK, a message by WhatsApp or email, or a pull request, with the result measured against a holdout group.
Can I use Holdy together with Pendo?
Yes, by different paths. Holdy does not read Pendo: events come in through Holdy's SDK, the REST API or the PostHog and Mixpanel connectors. Teams that use Pendo for guides can keep it for that and use Holdy to decide what to change.
How Holdy charges
The unit is the active account: each of your customers, company or workspace, with at least one event in the last 30 days counts once, no matter how many people it has. Your team's seats, events and integrations are never charged. Launch is US$29 (BRL 149) a month up to 100 active accounts and Growth is US$99 (BRL 490) a month up to 1,000 active accounts; beyond that, Corporate on request. Free is free, with 5 questions and 3 AI-generated improvements a month. Entry is the Free plan, no card. Plans are at /pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Does Holdy build in-product guides like Pendo?
Not as an editor. Holdy has no tour builder: when the action lives in the product, it writes the hint, question or checklist itself from the evidence, and the SDK shows it only to the right accounts, with part of them held out to measure the effect. Messages go out by WhatsApp or email, sent by the team. If your main use is building tours by hand, Userpilot or Appcues fit better.
What is the main difference between Holdy and Pendo?
Pendo shows usage and lets the team act. Holdy finds on its own where activation stalls, where usage drops and which accounts changed behavior, opens the opportunity with the plan, carries the change into the product and reads the result.
Does Holdy charge per active user like Pendo?
No. Holdy charges per active account per month, each of your customers with at least one event in the last 30 days, no matter how many people it has. Entry is the Free plan, no card.
How does Holdy measure whether the change worked?
Every action leaves part of the accounts out, at random. Holdy compares both groups on the behavior the action targets and, when you send plan, MRR and status per account, on who converted and who churned. A money figure only shows up once the difference holds; before that it shows how many accounts converted in each group and says it can't tell yet.
What if my customer base is small?
The comparison needs a sample. With a few dozen accounts, many readings end in "can't tell yet", and Holdy says so instead of inventing a number. The finding, the opportunity and the plan work from day one; the proof of the result gets stronger as the base grows.
